Removed script check for "Shelter". You can now sleep literally anywhere and live out your wildest homeless dreams.
Went into the script and just flat out deleted the check for Shelter being needed.
This does not get rid of any hunger, bleeding, radiation, etc checks. Just shelter.
Now you can live dangerously and catch a nap where-ever.
Tested it in Pripyat Outskirts.
Just Extract the gamedata folder.
Any issues, please post them.

I would love to see CS's sleep mechanic brought back. Yes you can sleep anywhere, but do it somewhere dangerous and you might get killed in your sleep :-)

It`s good! Just slept in a narrow ditch near the Jupiter factory. Woke up with a pack of Monoliths about 20 m away ,passing through. Kept my head down. They kept on blabbering something about kissing the monolith`s *** until they got stormed by a squad of mercs. Waited a bit ,packed my **** and fkt off. Emissions don`t effect the player. Just make sure the place is somewhat safe and hidden,like an attic or a small hidden space or you might wake up while getting your throat slashed by an enemy or chewed on by some tetanus infested dog.
As always, any mod is welcome, but I believe not being able to sleep anywhere is product of good design, since it's for preventing you from being ambushed by enemies or mutants, also I'm not sure if an emission may kill you or no while sleeping outside. And if you really, really wanna sleep outside, there's already an item that does that, the tent.
I understand these are valid criticisms, but the idea is to just have a sleeping bag. No tent. No annoying placements and fadeouts nonstop.
I was tired of not being able to catch rest in areas I otherwise wouldn't be "allowed" to.
The ambushes are just products of circumstance. That's what you get for sleeping right outside the Brain Scorcher.

Hey after I downloaded this mod it seems like every time I go to use a sleeping bag to sleep or try to sleep at all in general my stalker anomaly crashes. Any ideas on how to fix?
Does this mod not work for RC18? I tried the sleep anywhere mod and it jsut crashes when trying to sleep.
I tried fixing things but in the end I couldn't figure it out.
The first error that stops a player form using any sleeping item or bed is this.

I tried going down the rabit hole of fixing stuff by making sure the script files or code that where being referanced to was included in the script folder and had the scripts being pointed out include stuff using the LUA > require "file.extention" command which seemed to work until I got stuck at it complaining about toggle_feature in the game_difficulties.script.
got the same error, game just hard crashes as soon as I attempt to sleep. hopefully this gets resolved soon, as i wish to sleep under the warm embrace of the brain scorcher, as you suggested.

Fima, основной пресет готов, нужно проверить работу EFT позиции, проверить все остальные пресеты, упаковать, сделать торренты, сделать видео. Думаю через 4 часа все будет.

More immersive sleep, which only allows you to sleep when sleepy (last_sleep >= 3000). Can only sleep until well-rested. Chance of waking up early. Having a sleeping bag and or bedspread will give better sleep quality. Sleeping when not tired will display the message: "I'm not tired enough to sleep."
NOTE: This requires further testing.
Overall I believe the combination of mods listed below will make the experience more immersive. Now you will think twice about taking those caffeine tablets or energy drinks, in order to have enough stamina to drag all your loot out of the zone. And carrying a sleeping bag and bedspread could be crucial to ensure proper recovery for the next day of stalking. Risk vs reward :)
Standard for anomaly:
- Drinking caffeine reduces sleepiness which can cause you to stay up later than intended.
- Sleeping pills are available in the game already, which may be required to induce earlier sleep. Known as '027 R pills'.
Intended to be played with the following mods:

: by itself, was too easy to abuse sleep. Normal Ironman was a bit harsh, as I've lost many characters, not to mention the countless times dying from bugs. : will be required to take multiple sleeping pills. I believe effects get overridden, but instant effects should add up from '027 R pills'. : not being able to sleep will force you to be up at night while the terrors come crawling in towards your camp. I personally lowered the occurrence and the amounts in the waves.
Other recommended mods to add to the above:

: Since you have nocturnal mutants, might as well have this one also. : With nocturnal mutants, extra guards will be a nice addition.
Compatibility - the following files was modified:
- scripts > actor_status_sleep
- scripts > ui_sleep_dialog
- configs > text > eng > ui_st_screen
- configs > text > rus> ui_st_screen
Would recommend any other mods affecting ui_st_screen to be loaded after this mod.

Hey, like the idea, but I don't think it will change much with default up_sleep and sleep_chk configs.
Actor can still run around with backpack full of crap for 15 hours, then sleep for 3 hours and be totally fine ;]
I know it's a game, but this particular thing is breaking immersion imo.

- Some restrictions on maximum hours to be slept, on level 1 sleepiness, without sleeping bag the maximum hours is 7 and 9 for with sleeping bag.
May have to play around with these values a bit more, feedback welcome. For a first draft seems to be working well with the additional features.
Is it possible to leave all these cool features, but remove the possibility of sleeping only during fatigue? I think that in a stressful situation, it is reasonable to sleep at any possible time.
Saddens me that good addons like this don't get enough attention unlike all low-quality EFT related stuff that we get every day.
Just glad we still have people who care about gameplay and put efforts in their work.

Great mod! Now i actually have to plan my trips according to my sleep schedule.
I might have found an oversight. If you sleep just enough to get rid of the first level of tiredness and you wake up early, you cant go back to sleep, but you will be sleepy again in a few hours. It might be intended but just feels weird that you slept enough not to be able to sleep anymore and then get tired 3 hours later. I modified minimum sleep threshold from 5000 to 3000 "sleepiness points" and it feels a lot better now.

Also when you die or when gun is jammed, message on the screen says "nis". Not sure why, but it is easily fixable changing the "ui_st_screen" lines.
It would be great if there would be a new update to the addon, that:
Increases Sleep Recovery per hour from 510 to 520 (w/o sleeping in sleeping bag)
Reduces need for sleep from 5000 to 3000.

I've been playing with 1.2.0 for a while now which adjusted wakeup chance to a scaling percentage.
Also added some of the recent feedback here from Angery_Orang and Uklejamini.
Additionaly MegaTiEstO96, inspired me to add Russian translation. Haven't tested this yet, so let me know if it works :)

After sleeping, seeing double, what is needed to prevent this from happening? Sleeping on a sleeping bag with a Bed spread?

I think with Immersive Campfire Saving the up_sleep increasing only once per blackout and doesn't count all the time that has been passed after save.
It's more of an Immersive Campfire Saving issue honestly, just thought you should know ;p
Edit: Seems like sleep/thirst scripts are based on time that actually passed and do not like time that has been changed ;[
Hey, for some reason every time I open my inventory I crash with this mod, Thought it might have been a sleeping bag in my inventory, but to no avail, still didn't work without sleeping bag. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what I'm experiencing, but with the Sleep/Food/Thirst UI mod, getting 9 hours of comfy sleep while in the 'gray' indicator status never seems to actually max out my sleep.
I waited until my sleepiness factor turned yellow, which means I'm at 6250 of sleepy units. I have a comfy setup (bag + roll).
I slept "very well" for 9 hours.
Based on the math, I should wake up with pretty much with 166 sleep units left, or rather, my UI bar should be totally full (comfy2 = 676/hour recovery, 6,084 total sleep recovery).
Instead, I wake up in 9 hours and the bar is at like 3.5 bars full. Meaning my sleep level is at around 4200.
So maybe the UI is wrong?
Maybe not. I took some Sleeping Pills. My Sleeping Pills give eat_sleepiness = 2.668, which has a 1,000 multiplier in the actor_status_sleep.script, so that increased my sleepiness by 2,668. If my sleep was actually maxed out AS IT SHOULD BE, I should not be in sleepy status.
But instead, my sleep scale drops to 2 bars, and I go into 'gray' sleepiness.
I've double-checked all my mod overwrites and my patches. Everything appears to be correct (mods I'm using that affect these files is limited to:
- Arszi's Radiation
- Food Drug Drink animations
- A patch for both of these + immersive sleep.
(This patch is nothing more the ui_sleep_dialog.script with the radiation limit removed, and it's at the end of my load order)
- Hunger/Thirst/Sleep UI (only touches actor_status_sleep)
So something appears to be very wrong. I cannot actually sleep and regain much sleep at all.

Where does this show up? I'm not really an expert at STALKER, but it never shows up in my xray_xxxxxx.log.
At the end of the day, I'm not getting my full sleep recovery and I've isolated every reason on my end why that could be. Maybe this is by design, but it begs the question why the "maximum wakefulness" would be hard-limited to around the 2000 unit mark. Why isn't it designed with 0 being the maximum wakefulness, and then scale the sleepiness increment from there?

Replaced useless stamina bar with hunger, thirst and sleepiness.
Stamina bar has never been useful/informative to me, aswell as to many other people. Before you say "but we have icons" - grey hunger icon appears only when it's below 40%; same for sleepiness (around that); thirst looks fine, but I still added it ;]
Bars go all the way down till red icons.

Installation: UI Main folder first and patches (if necessary) at the end.
Leave a comment if you need a patch for something else.

I thought about it and don't worry, probably won't add ;] hunger/thirst/sleep has a reason.
Radiation doesn't, there is a geiger counter that tells you the exact amount, adding bar for it makes no sense.

Does it remove the big HUD icons for hunger + thirst?
Nope, since some stats hit your stamina very hard even at grey indicators, I thought it's better to leave them to keep the player more informed.
If you want to remove them, you can try "Immersive HUD" addon. or at least it'll be the one to take configs from.

Seems like a cool mod but it's broken for me. Anytime I try to open my inventory or any container the game crashes. This is with nothing else installed so it is not a compatibility issue.
What does log say? Ctrl+V error here.

(new log is generated on every launch, so send the one right after the crash)
. The only crash I could think of, is wrong installation of patch or me missing non-16 xmls ;p Try to redownload again, if that won't work, then post a log error here.

some you could do is split the health bar in two and make the second bar be the bleeding bar
Think bleeding is not that necessary to have its own bar, I believe it's better and simplier if someone can just bring back the bleeding icon.

Script from the mentioned addon looks super outdated, I'll be surprised if it works without problems on a current Anomaly version.

Uhm, it's similar to thumbnail but black and white.
I think there is a conflict with OUTFIT ATTACHMENT OVERHAUL.
When equipping camelback actor drinks non-stop from it, this is not very game-breaking but kinda annoying to have a pop-up that shows a message each second that I've drank from camelback.
I think that there might be some overlapping code for thirst counter. Any chance for compatibility patch?

Thanks mate, well this are only 2 addons that I have which are messing with thirst stats and the camelback doesn't behave like that before I've installed your addon.
From what I've read from the description of 'Outfit Attachments' the camelback is checking for thirst level, and it looks like the camelback tries to restore it to full hydration. So when the thirst level drops even 1% below 100% the camelback is being used automatically. The camelback is loosing 1% of it's water capacity each second and the hydration bar from your addon is filling, showing that it is in fact watering the player.
So this might be a non-intentional interaction ;)
As arti explained, his addon applies "drink water action" and doesn't touch thirst itself.
