26 мая. 2017 в 15:49For those who don't know,NGBTO (Newbies Go Back To Overkill) is a mod which lets you choose a series of rules/requirements people need to join your lobby
For example : I want people with over X amount of hours to join my lobby.
NGBTO will automatically kick people with less hours than X.
Thats the primary use for it.
Now,why do people use it?
Im going to give you an example.
You're in a match with 2 other people,you all are pros,not even a 9 year old minecraft pvper can stop you.
The match is extremely hard(one down),you're hoping for someone to join and help you
And what you get?
A guy with 50 hours that gets downed every 5 seconds and then into custody.
People want to prevent a newbie to join and ruin any chance of hope.
Its a dicc move but you'll understand soon when you will be put in a situation like this.
I'll say it myself,I'm not the best player,I'm a pretty,over the average player.
When I brought PAYDAY 2 I knew the basics,because I played the demo.
And I swore I would never touch something higher than normal difficulty.
I got about 10 hours? I dont remember,and then i started playing on higher difficulties (hard,very hard)
Overkill was still a challenge to me
And then at 180 hours. I think.
I started playing Mayhem,DeathWish.
I wasnt pro at them,I needed a good squad to play it.
So please,don't judge the NGBTO users,they do it for their own good.
And also,check the ghost,dont ask if you can stealth it.
Onedown doesnt mean instant stealth.

Wait out the assault and wait for a hostage trade I do see where you're coming from though, most of the time I help out new players on overkill. Sometimes if I do get that odd ball who joins a DW/OD I'll tell him to rejoin in a few mins on Overkill or something. But that isn't very often anymore with how many cheaters I tend to run into.
I honestly do see where you're coming from, I want you to be 100% aware of that.

The game is hosted locally, the host can do whatever he wants up to and including Alt+F4. Who gets to stay and who gets kicked is the host's prerogative. I just take issue when people try to justify their use of NGBTO as something natural and benign when what it comes down to is "Noobs, go back to Overkill!" By definition, you're snobbing people, so have the decency to own up to that. Nobody will hold you accountable because. Well, literally nobody can, but at least we'll avoid this air of smugness that permiates that mod. "You're not good enough to play with me." Here's a thought experiment. Try actually saying that to people's faces and then kicking them namually. See how that makes you feel in the long run.
If people were just using NGBTO to kick people out of One Down or Deathwish or specific achievement runs, most of this wouldn't be news. For all the cries of "Noobs are ruining the game!" this isn't as rampant and the people doing it aren't as likely to complain. But when you have players unable to join Overkill heists because the host set an hour limit of 100 and banned the use of First Aid Kits and Hitman and Crossbows and Swan Song, then even my "your lobby, your rule" stance starts to ring hollow. And that's before we even start talking about using this on NORMAL, like some people apparently have.
My general point here is that if your requirements for team-mates are so exacting that you can't kick players who don't meet them manually, then I'm going to call it elitism. You do't have to like my opinion, but I don't have to like your choices.

You can totally get powerleveled in 70 hours. It took me roughly 1 hour to get 5 infamy levels, it looks fishy as fug but it really is just Crime Spree. Also French Kissing dozers is called Sociopath, check it out.

tl;dr: Nobody wants to play dodgeball with the proverbial fat kid on their team.
Why does Overkill authorize mods like NGBTO ?
So, basically, I am disgusted both by the fact this kind of mod exists, and even more by the fact that Overkill authorizes these kind of mods to exist. I am not a new player, I actually am Infamy V, almost VI, what bothers me is the bias about "you are low level, you are a noob". I often see people that are even at a higher infamy level than I am, an still they are more stupid than François Hollande.
This basically makes me think about the darkest days of World of Warcraft when the addon "Gearscore" came out, what made a part of the community transform into totally elitist and eccentric morons that are convinced that skill is a matter of level/stuff. I am not quite sure that leaving this kind of mods being is a decent way to welcome new players, the worst part of it being the fact that these same elitist idiots forget that they also were once a new player with no gear and no skills.
