Installation directory must be on a local hard drive что делать minecraft
I'm a newbie and I'm taking a course on HTML and they recommend your product. I have tried to install it on Windows 10 and it just says, "Installation directory must be on local hard drive." I've tried changing it to a different hard drive. I've looked at your trouble shooting tips, but they don't provided step by step solutions for Windows 10. There is no run as admin option coming up. I've looked through the current issues and I didn't understand a word of any of the responses on how to fix it. So. I really need this for the course I'm taking, but I have no idea how to get it to install! Please help me and explain as plainly as possible what I need to do. Thank you.

Thank you for the very easy to follow step by step instructions! It worked and Brackets is now successfully installed in Windows 10. I also learned something about comnand prompt along the way!
I use windows 8.1 and i had to reset it today, I tried to install minecraft after downloading it and its giving me the error message Installation directory must be on a local hard drive. I have found other posts about this and how to fix it but it never worked for me. Can somebody give me an alternative to those posts or explain it better to me?
New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castSo you’re tryna install java right? Not windows ten edition or bedrock?
Java edition of minecraft, yes.
Is it a local hard drive? Have you played with the mount points?
I also force the swapfile to a subfolder similarly: "C:\ExtMountPoints\Swap\pagefile.sys" where Swap is a mount for another partition.
it is a local hard drive, it even says so in the properties. I dont really know what you mean by mount points and that kind of stuff but i will check it out.
You can put that file anywhere you want and run it but it will create some folders in that location as well as a copy of itself with a new name. The "correct" name and place is to rename it to MinecraftLauncher.exe, make a Minecraft folder in "C:\Program Files (x86)" and move it there so that the full path is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\MinecraftLauncher.exe"
Windows may whine about needing permissions to make the folder. Once in place, you may need to launch it as an administrator for the first time.

What is the current behavior?
Yarn stable v1.9.4 Windows .msi installer doesn't allow me to install on my C: drive.
If the current behavior is a bug, please provide the steps to reproduce.
What is the expected behavior?
Installation allows the path on the C: drive because it is a local drive
Please mention your node.js, yarn and operating system version.
Node v10.1.0
Yarn v1.6.0 (I had run the command yarn global add yarn to try and update it, but was redirected to the yarn install site by a warning)
Windows 10 Pro v1803

I have uninstalled yarn and have gone back to npm for the time being.
There's a possibility a fresh install might resolve this but I will need to dedicate some more time to this when I can

hit by the same issue and solved by running command line with Administrator privilege.
C:\WINDOWS\system32>msiexec /i "C:\Users\JipingWang\Downloads\yarn-1.10.1.msi"

Turns out it was a rare issue with my windows MSI installer being faulty. I did a windows reinstall and things worked from there. Shame there wasn't a less painful solution, but I'm no longer sure the problem was with Yarn.
