Simplicity is the mother of performance
Glowstone's simplicity affords it a performance improvement over CraftBukkit and other servers.
By design, our code is simple and doesn't have to work around the official Minecraft server in order to improve performance or functionality.

Glowstone is open source and community centric.
Anyone can work on Glowstone, so it reflects what our community wants. And, with Glowstone's MIT license, you can modify it to suit your server's needs. Don't know code? Provide your input in the design process!
We put all of our efforts into providing efficient and quality software. While the project has been around for a few years, we are not feature-complete in comparison to the vanilla server software.
We update our project frequently enough to follow Mojang's updates, but Glowstone is simply not ready for some production servers. While Glowstone can be used at its best for lobbies, hubs, minigames and creative servers, it is not ready for survival.

Obtaining [ ]
Natural generation [ ]
A naturally occurring blob of glowstone in the underside of netherrack.
Glowstone occurs naturally only in the Nether, where it generates in crystalline blobs on the underside of ceilings or overhangs. It can also generate as a part of hoglin stable bastion remnants.
Breaking [ ]
If glowstone is broken using a tool with Silk Touch, the block drops itself. If a tool with Fortune is used, it has a higher chance of dropping a large amount of glowstone dust—but never more than 4. When a glowstone block is broken with any other tool, it drops 2–4 glowstone dust.

Although glowstone can only be found in block form in the Nether, all renewable ways of obtaining glowstone are accessed through the Overworld.
Wandering traders sell glowstone for two emeralds.
Witches may drop glowstone dust, which may be crafted into glowstone.

Glowstone
Glowstone is a light-emitting block that occurs in branching structures, found hanging from ceilings and overhangs in the Nether.
Obtaining [ ]
To obtain Glowstone, go to the Blazing Fortress. Once there, go to the Pigman area and keep going straight from it. Eventually you'll find Glowstone. Unless you have a silk touch tool, Glowstone will drop into small amounts of Glowstone Dust. You can also obtain Glowstone Dust, Enchanted Glowstone Dust, Enchanted Glowstone Blocks And Enchanted Redstone Lamp from the Bazaar.
However, the amount of Glowstone dust is almost always enough to craft a block of Glowstone. Unlike most other blocks, Glowstone can be crafted with only four items instead of nine, similarly to a quartz block.
Glowstone Dust Collection [ ]
Collecting Glowstone increases the player's Glowstone collection, which grants useful items and perks upon collecting certain amounts of Glowstone.

Светящийся камень добывают в Аду, на потолке или стенах. Блоки светящегося камня излучают сильный свет, даже под водой, и растапливают вокруг себя снег в холодных биомах. Чтобы добыть светящийся камень, нужно его разбить, при этом выпадет 2-4 единицы светящейся пыли. Ее можно потом собрать в светящийся камень, даже в инвентаре игрока.
Хитрости и советы
Светящийся камень можно использовать в строительстве и декоре, он отлично освещает, и у него красивая текстура.

Light source [ ]
Glowstone blocks emit a light level of 15, the brightest possible light level in the game. They emit the same amount of light as lanterns, sea lanterns, jack o'lanterns, redstone lamps, conduits, beacons, and shroomlights.
Redstone circuits [ ]
A glowstone block can transmit power up, but not down. Lamp A is powered because the redstone signal travels up the glowstone block. Lamp B is off as the signal would have to go down the glowstone, which is not possible.When placing redstone dust on a glowstone block, being a transparent block, signals can pass from one block to another diagonally. Redstone wire, even though it may appear to connect up the side of a glowstone block and to the wire portion on top, does not send a redstone signal down the glowstone block. This makes glowstone effective for vertical diodes, logic gate designs, and space-efficient instant vertical redstone.
Note that upside-down slabs can be used for the same purpose, and are easier to obtain.

Glowstone can be placed under note blocks to produce pling sounds.
Respawn anchors [ ]
Glowstone is used to charge respawn anchors.
If a dispenser containing glowstone is facing a respawn anchor, it can automatically charge the respawn anchor when powered.
Transparent block [ ]
Mobs, in this case blazes, are able to choose glowstone blocks as their pathfinding target, as if they are normal solid blocks.
Glowstone blocks all sunlight, players and mobs suffocate inside it, mobs are able to pathfind to it, and it blocks a beacon beam, preventing the beacon's activation. However, like transparent blocks, it does not prevent the opening of chests, monsters (including slimes) cannot spawn on it, and it does not transfer a redstone signal. This behavior also occurs in sea lanterns.

Glowstone is a useful light source as it provides a wide area of light for no power.
