Note: Prior to version 4.0.2 the Flood Gate does not have a crafting recipe.
The Global API
The Global API is a service that links your Bedrock account between every Floodgate 2.0 server, making it easier than ever to use your Bedrock account on multiple, different servers.
Global Linking
Global Linking allows you to link your Java and Bedrock account once by connecting to a central server
NOTE: When your Java and Bedrock accounts are linked, your Bedrock playerdata (inventory, etc.) will be lost.Although Global Linking is enabled by default, it can be disabled on your server in the Floodgate configuration file:
Installation on a New Server
- Install Geyser using this guide
- On Step 1, download the Geyser MC Floodgate 2.0 version instead
- After you have successfully installed Geyser, download Floodgate 2.0 and upload it to your plugins directory
- Edit the config.yml file in the /plugins/Geyser-Spigot directory to set your auth-type to floodgate :
Flood Gate
The Flood Gate was added in BC version 4.0.0 available on the 9th of August 2013, and is essentially the reverse of a pump allowing piped/stored liquids to be placed as liquid source blocks in the world.
With a Pump and a Flood Gate it is, for example, possible to transfer a lake from one location to another, or allow fuel to be stored in a 'tank' made from any block.
It will place water under and on all sides, but never higher than the Flood Gate itself.
The Flood Gate is open by default, and closed by redstone signal.
Will scan about 64 block away from the Flood Gate (horizontal) for empty blocks to fill. If the scan doesn't find any blocks to fill, it will wait some time and the scan again. The wait delay between scans will double every time it doesn't find anything, starting from 128 milliseconds and max at 16384 milliseconds. The delay will reset to 128 milliseconds when a block to fill is found. The scan delay will also reset with a redstone signal.

How to install GeyserMC
Want to allow Bedrock players to be able to join your Java server? Follow this guide to learn how!
Guide
Step 1: Downloading Geyser 1.16
You will need to download the plugin version of Geyser 1.16.
First go to GeyserMC's website here and click on the Download Button in the top right
Then you should download the Geyser-Spigot.jar file. This has been updated to work with 1.16 and the newest version of Bedrock.
Every time Bedrock Edition receives an update you will need to download the new update of Geyser, sometimes that can take a couple of days.
Step 3: Installing Geyser
You can install the Geyser plugin like any other plugin. If you haven’t installed a plugin before or need help, you can follow this guide:
DedicatedMC - Help and Tutorials TehloStep 4: Configuring Geyser
Now we need to configure Geyser to allow connections from Bedrock Edition. After installing the Geyser plugin, start your server to generate the Geyser config file.
Then we will need to edit port settings in the config, as the default Bedrock port is not the same as the default Java port. The config file can be found in the Geyser plugin folder.
In the config file, If you would like Geyser to use the same port as your server, set clone-remote-port to true . Otherwise, you will need to use a port from your allocations which can be found in the panel by selecting your server and then going to Network Settings .
If you do not know how to allocate a port or don't have one allocated, you can follow this guide:
DedicatedMC - Help and Tutorials StoryboardIf you have a Dedicated IP, make a ticket in our Discord to get the default Bedrock port added to your server.
In the config, you can also edit the Server Name and MOTD that will show up to Bedrock players, but note the MOTD window on Bedrock is pretty small.
You can edit both the server name and motd shown to bedrock players!
Once you have your port and MOTD in, we can save the file and go back to the console.
In the console type:
And you should see Geyser using the new port we just set.
It may show you a warning about running in a Docker image. DedicatedMC are configured correctly and this will not be an issue.
Step 5: Connecting to the server
Geyser is now up and running! Congrats!
For your Bedrock players to be able to connect to your Java Server, they need to add it to their server list.
Once added, use the IP of your server and the port we configured earlier.
You should now see the server in the list of Bedrock servers with the server name and MOTD we configured!
The players can now connect like normal, but they will be prompted to log in with a Java account. They do not need Java Edition installed, but they will need a Java Edition account.
Once this is done, they will be on the server and can play with other Java players! It will use the skin of the Java account that was used to log in, not the Bedrock skin.
Done!
Floodgate
By default, Bedrock players will also need a Java account to connect to a Java server, the Floodgate plugin removes this requirement. Here is how to install it:
Migrating from Floodgate 1.0 to Floodgate 2.0
NOTE: Floodgate 1.0 and Floodgate 2.0 are not cross-compatible, and cannot be swapped out for each other.- Stop your server
- Download the Geyser MC Floodgate 2.0 version and upload it to your plugins directory, replacing the original JAR
- Download the Floodgate 2.0 version and upload it to your plugins directory
- If you had floodgate-bukkit installed, delete the JAR and relevant folder
- Restart your server
- Review the new configuration file in /plugins/floodgate/config.yml
- In particular, change the username-prefix from . back to * if you would like to keep the old prefix. Whatever you choose, you will not lose any player data as it will just act as a normal username change.
