This will give you a steady weekly income of both cores and will quickly help you on your way to lv 6.
I would personally avoid this supply but for those who are not afraid to spend crystals, this is an option.
Secondly, her Raiment Labs event allows you to purchase up to 60 Evolve Cores and 30 YA fragments with Raiment Prints and even more YA fragments for 300 Asterites each.

VG might seem complicated at first, but with practice, you will find that she is fairly easy to play . This guide aims to help players understand her skills and able to use her effectively. If you have read her skills and just want to know how to play her, then you may skip to the [How to Play] section.
- Used for Charged ATK.
- You can get Resolve from Basic ATK, Ultimate, Throw, QTE.
2) THROW ATK - VG can Throw enemies using her Lance weapon skill. Throwing will
- Trigger weapon skill effect & cd
- Trigger 2s Time Fracture
- Recover 480 Resolve
3) COUNTERSTRIKE THROW (CT) - A variation of Throw that can only be activated against certain enemy attacks.
- Trigger weapon skill effect, BUT bypasses weapon CD
- Does not trigger Time Fracture.
- Only recover 240 Resolve
Examples of Throw (Left) and CT (Right)
SKILL DETAILS
BASIC ATK - Deal Physical and Fire DMG
- A full sequence recover 240 Resolve (one gauge)
- 4th sequence recovers 1 bonus SP on each hit (has 4 hits = 4 bonus SP)
- 5th sequence ignites enemy for 8s
EVASION - After ultimate evasion, press ATK to launch Basic ATK 5th sequence.
Evasion Skill in action. Combat Focus indicator appears on top of Resolve meter.
- Trigger 3s Time Fracture. CD: 15s
- Recovers 100 Resolve and enters Combat Focus state for 4s.
- During Combat Focus, you can keep pressing evade & atk button to directly unleash Basic ATK 5th sequence.
- Each hit gain 40% TDM, recovers 40 more Resolve (total 80) and 3 more SP.
CHARGED ATK - Durandal goes choo choo
Gif shows Sprint state 1, then state 2, and ends with Sprint ATK.
SPRINT STATE 1, 2 and SPRINT ATK
- When you have 240 Resolve, hold down ATK button to enter Sprint State 1. Each hit consumes 40 Resolve, deal Fire and Physical DMG.
- After consuming 240 Resolve on state 1, you will enter Sprint State 2. Fire DMG dealt is increased.
- After consuming >240 Resolve, release ATK button to perform Sprint ATK.
- VG has another Charged ATK, that we will discuss in the Ultimate section.
FIERY WILL
- For every 240 Resolve consumed during Sprint, you gain Fiery WIll buff.
- Each stack gives 6% Fire DMG for 20s. Max 10 stacks.
- Buff indicator shown above Resolve meter.
ULTIMATE - Once you have 100 SP, you can use Ultimate, which generates Aura Ignis, which unlocks her strongest Charged ATK - DECISIVE BLOW. Sounds confusing? Ok, let me explain it in order.
VG using Ultimate and Decisive Blow
ULTIMATE 🔥
- Deals huge 600% Fire + 600% Physical DMG (helps break shields)
- Recover full Resolve
- Apply Quantum Implosion
- Generate Aura Ignis on entire field for 15s
In AURA IGNIS, VG gets buffed 🔥🔥
- Gain 50% TDM
- Basic ATKs recover twice the Resolve
- Every 4 hits deal additional 80% ATK Fire DMG
- Gets access to her strongest Charged ATK - DECISIVE BLOW
Charged ATK - DECISIVE BLOW 🔥🔥🔥
- Deals 830% Fire + 200% Physical DMG in an area
- Gain 0.2% TDM for each Resolve consumed ( Max 96% TDM )
- At max Fiery Will stacks, final hit will deal additional 250% ATK Fire DMG
HOW TO PLAY VG
Since VG specializes against mobs, this rotation is written for Abyss purposes.
STEP 1: FARM SP
STEP 2: ADD SOME SEASONING
- Gather enemies: Can be achieved with Azure Empyrea, Drive Kometa or Valkyrie Chariot
- Apply buffs / debuffs: E.g. Blood Dance, Azure Empyrea ultimatE
- Use Ultimate, Evadion and ELF ultimate.
- Use Charged ATK - Decisive Blow
- Use Throw ATK
- Use Charged ATK - Decisive Blow
- Do a full basic ATK sequence
- Use Charged ATK - Decisive Blow
EQUIPMENT
LINEUP
Azure Empyrea (AE) , Valkyrie Gloria , Blood Dance user
The best team for VG. AE provides tons of buffs, but most importantly -
Valkyrie Gloria , Phoenix (PX) , Drive Kometa (DK)
A powerful F2P team -
- PX buffs Fire DMG & applies 20% Enemy Elemental DMG taken (SS-rank)
- DK can gather enemies . As mentioned before, VG Sprint pushes mobs away, and DK solves this problem. DK can gather enemies using QTE or Ultimate.
- DK also helps you survive Abyss bleed and interrupt enemies.
Special: Valkyrie Chariot
- VC Ultimate can help gather enemies during Aura Ignis
- Can also re-trigger Jin Shengtan 2set aura
ABYSS
1-VG is great against Abyss mobs for a number of reasons:
- No type disadvantage - Abyss usually consists of multiple-type mobs. Being a QUA-type means VG does not have to worry about type disadvantages.
- Her AOE attacks hit multiple enemies at once , raising her damage, hit counts and SP recovery. Add up her bonus SP passive, VG only needs a few rounds of Basic ATK to get to her next Ultimate.
- One can say that she is the elemental counterpart of Swallowtail Phantasm, or the mobbing counterpart of Flame Sakitama.
2-She is best used in
- Dirac Sea: Tundra, Frost, Fog, Quantum
- Q-Singularis: Flash Explosion, Quantum Collapse
- Can work in any weather / evadion buff as long as it does not give her any disadvantage.
3-One thing to note: VG is bad against invisibility enemies like Doom or Bandit, because
4-Here are some examples of VG in Myriad Abyss. Note that BETA Abyss only has five floors, similar to Q-Gateway.
VG with different gears vs 222Eh Myriad mobs (Quantum Evadion)
Full gameplay of VG clearing one Myriad floor 210Eh (Lightning Evadion)
ARENA
Unfortunately, VG does not get a good score against all Arena bosses. A few reasons:
- Takes a while to build 100 SP against a single enemy
- Needs more than one Ultimate to kill (except Argent Knight)
She only gets decent score against Argent Knight: Artemis boss, which already has other options, for both beginners and veterans.
Maybe one day there will be a QUA boss or mob that takes 20x damage from Lance user, then another 10x Fire DMG, then VG will have a use in Arena.
CONCLUSION
Closing Thoughts
Ever since GK has been introduced, the meta has been a bit stale. It is hard to compete with a valkyrie that has the highest damage output in the game while also having the benefit of being high range to kite her enemies from a safe distance.
For a while now, I believe the game is heading towards a state where GK will have a more balanced impact on the meta. The replacement of Infinity Abyss with Dirac Sea is one example. Now the introduction of DK, who heavily focuses on melee damage, is another. DK indirectly buffs a lot of valkyries and we may soon be in a period with more viable teams than ever before.

Greetings, captains! This SUPPORT HANDBOOK aims to help captains to understand the teambuilding of the game. This handbook consists of multiple chapters written by a group of veteran captains.
This handbook is made to answer these questions. We hope everyone can understand how to get greater DPS with the help of supports and ultimately play wiser after reading this handbook.
- Chapter 1 - Essentials (You are here!)
- Chapter 2 - Physical Support
- Chapter 3 - Elemental Support
- Chapter 4 - Total DMG Support
Chapter 1 - Essentials will discuss
- The different damage types and how to calculate them
- Planning your rotation (switching and timeline of buffs)
- Advanced switching technique
In this chapter, we will go into detail about the numerous Damage Multipliers that are available in the game. It is important to understand that, of these multipliers,
- The same multipliers will increase additively, while
- Different multipliers will increase your damage multiplicatively.
EXAMPLE 1 (SAME MULTIPLIER)
If a valkyrie is equipping two stigmatas, each granting +30% physical damage.
They will add up to (1+30%+30%)x=1.6x.
EXAMPLE 2 (DIFFERENT MULTIPLIER)
However, if the same valkyrie were granted +30% physical and +25% total damage, they would multiple together (1+30%)x+(1+25%)x=1.625x. As you can see, even with smaller numbers, you will see a larger increase in damage.
This all could involve quite a bit of math, but the short simple explanation is the more diverse multipliers you have, the better.
PHYSICAL DAMAGE MULTIPLIER (PDM)
PDM increases the damage of all physical attacks. As shown in the examples, they may come with conditions, but regardless, they will all be regarded in the same multiplier. For instance, melee physical damage and combo attack physical damage multipliers all fall into the same umbrella.
ELEMENTAL DAMAGE MULTIPLIER (EDM)
EDM increases the damage of all elemental damage. It is important to know that lightning, ice, and fire damage multipliers are all part of the Elemental Damage Multiplier. You may think of different elements as another specified condition. If you have +30% elemental damage and +30% fire damage, they will still add together, being the same multiplier.
TOTAL DAMAGE MULTIPLIER (TDM)
This will increase all of the damage where applicable, both physical and elemental.
LESSER DMG MULTIPLIER
Attack Modifier (Atk%): Each attack has its Atk%. This often comes in phrases "120% ATK of Ice DMG."
Crit Rate (CR): CR determines the rate of which a physical attack will score a critical hit. It is not a multiplier exactly, instead, it tells us how often the Crit Damage multiplier will be applied in damage calculations.
It is important to note that CR is not the same as the CRT stat. The example above will increase your CRT stat by 40%, not Crit Rate. Below shows the calculations to determine your CR.
Crit Damage Multiplier (CDmg): This multiplier is applied for critical hits. This multiplier starts at 2x or 100% by default. Therefore, if a valkyrie gains 50% CDmg, that means her new CDmg will be (1+100%+50%)x=2.5x. This also means CDmg is highly diluted by default and reliant on crit rate, making it a lesser multiplier.
Shield Damage Multiplier (SDM): This is simply an additional multiplier that only affects shields. Elemental damage typically does not deal damage to shields. Will not have effect against shieldless targets.
Just like with the big three multipliers, there are respective vulnerabilities for the enemies. They are often applied to enemies for certain durations. They can often be identified by phrases like "Take 10% more Physical damage." They are grouped similar to the big three multipliers we talked about before. So there will be three different multipliers,
- Physical Damage Vulnerability (PVul)
- Elemental Damage Vulnerability (EVul)
- Total Damage Vulnerability (TVul).
As before, the same vulnerabilities will be additive and different ones will be multiplicative.
HOST-SPECIFIC DEBUFF
These debuffs can be identified by language seen above, that specify "more Fire Damage from the host." Also, remember these are unique multipliers, the Fire damage debuff will not stack with other Fire Damage Vulnerabilities, but they will also not stack with its own stacks from the same stigmata. For instance, Thale M has a debuff causing enemies to take 2% more Fire Damage from the host, and stacks up to 10 time. Each stack will be unique and interact multiplicatively with other stacks. Therefore, 10 stacks will result in 1.0210=1.219x rather than just adding to be 1.20x.
In Honkai Impact 3, a good team usually consists of one DPS and two support valks. The two support valks provide buffs to maximize damage output. A proper switching or rotation helps to maximize score. If two captains use the same team, the one that rotates properly will score higher.
You need to consider
- Team synergy
- Buffs effects and durations
- Enemy mechanics
- Time fracture (for Memorial Arena)
EXAMPLE 1: KMB CH VD with Newton B
Team: Knight Moonbeam (KMB), Celestial Hymn (CH) Void Drifter (VD)
Buff 1: 50% DEF Reduction from CH Charged Attack. Duration: 7s
Buff 2: NEWTON B Stigma. Enemy takes 31% more damage for 5s. Both KMB and CH have Newton B
THE ROTATION:
KMB evade to activate time fracture and hit once to [1] activate Newton B debuff > triggers CH QTE > CH QTE in to [2] activate impair and [3] activate Newton B debuff > triggers VD QTE > VD switch in. VD QTE and combo ATK will get the benefit of CH impair and both Newton B debuff.
EXAMPLE 2: LE BD HF
Team: Lightning Empress (LE), Blood Dance holder (BD) Hawk of the Fog (HF)
Buff 1: LE apply conductive on enemies - make them take 60% more Lightning DMG for 6s
Buff 2: Blood Dance makes enemies take 60% more Elemental DMG for 9s
THE ROTATION:
[1] Cast Blood Dance > LE switch in > Use MAG-Typhoon active to [2] apply conductive debuff > HF switch in and deal damage
Based on the examples, the rotations consist of:
- Support 1 apply buffs
- Support 2 switches in and apply buffs
- DPS switches in and deals damage.
DIFFERENT ROTATIONS FOR DIFFERENT BOSSES
You understand how a basic team rotation works. Now, you need to adjust them accordingly against bosses in Memorial Arena or Abyss, since each boss has its own mechanics which need to be exploited to gain high scores.
Team: Herrscher of Thunder (HOT) Molotov Cherry (MC) and Divine Prayer (DP)
1-4-1 Comparison between typical switching and changes from SAThis extra section is to briefly explain the special rotation of Starlit Astrologos
Starlit Astrologos QTE allows her to enter the field to deal damage without switching out the current valk. She can trigger buffs like Gluttony, Newton and Shuijing using this QTE. This is the reason her rotation is a bit different.
If DPS duration is long enough, SA can even QTE again, re-applying her buffs!
Examples of Starlit Astrologos lineup gameplay:
Prevent your valkyrie from attacking when switching out
One of the most common support valkyries, Drive Kometa, attacks forward upon switching in. The gif above displays both sides: DK attacking upon switching in, thus triggering her Newton B prematurely, and DK quickly putting her shield up to cancel that very same switch-in attack. To cancel this attack, you must immediately press the evade button upon selecting her icon to switch into. Because the window of opportunity to press evade and cancel the animation is very tight, you must be very quick.
Just evade: Divine Prayer, Celestial Hymn, and Himeko
Divine Prayer and Himeko battlesuits are prominent in their support, especially in elemental teams, and Celestial Hymn is extremely common in physical teams. Unfortunately, they are infamous for attacking upon switching in. To fix this, you must quickly press evade upon switch-in to cancel the switch attack. Additionaly, you should be careful not to accidentally ult-evade; some Ultimate Evasions have direct hits that can proc stigmata effects too.
Why the Olenyeva Twins and Vermillion Knight are the best Blood Dance Holder
In this gif, it shows the DPS QTEing almost instantly after the cross is deployed.
Tip: When/if your valkyrie sometimes freezes for a second after switching in, thus preventing additional actions to be performed, hold the directional stick while switching in to cancel the delay/freeze.
Not really too advanced of a technique but after QTE-ing, SN can take a few slashes before she initiates her charged ATK. This can waste time in the most optimal gameplay, as shown in the gif above. However, if you press and hold the basic ATK button after SN begins QTE-ing and before she finishes QTE-ing (lands on the ground), she will skip those slashes and get straight to her Charged ATK. If performed correctly, it will look like one of the two attacks in the gif below.

Important Core Levels
The sequence is of skills unlocked from core levels 1-6 is mostly broken into two categories: offensive and defensive. Its offensive skills, namely Space Warp and Crippling Bolt, will be maxed at level 3 and 4 respectively. Its defensive skills such as Aegis of Inertia is maxed at lvl 5 and DEF Reboot and Gravity Vortex are both maxed at level 6. I would personally recommend captains to prioritize upgrading DK to level 6 as soon as possible.
Overview
Drive Kometa (DK) is the Augmented Skill Core of Yamabuki Armor (YA). As with YA, DK focuses heavily on being able to not only increases the damage output of damage dealers, but also reinforcing their defensive capabilities. DK sees strong buffs to its shields while also give new abilities such as increased interrupt, melee physical damage, and damage to shields. Unfortunately, there is a trade off: DK is losing a lot of her healing capabilities and the 30% impair, but the pros heavily outweigh the cons.
Gears
Being a support valkyrie, its weapons and stigmatas has a lower priority over weapons and stigmatas for your damage dealers. Also, supports will often adjust their loadout to best fit their current damage dealer.
Optimal Weapon :
Star Shatterer: Vikrant -- 275 ATK / 27 CRT
Distortion Field (SP: 21, CD: 30s): Creates a field for 7 seconds that slows movement of enemies by 50%, deals 150% atk per second, applies 10% weaken, and slowly pulls them towards the center.
Its passive synergizes extremely well with both Crippling Bolt and Aegis of Inertia. Crippling Bolt will give easy access to the 15% Total Damage for the team.
Optimal Stigmata:
Beethoven T -- Increase 20% Max HP. Heavy weapon users also gain 20% Total Damage.
Beethoven M -- When undeployed, team gains 15% Melee Physical Damage and takes 20% less Physical Damage from enemies.
Beethoven B -- While deployed, user gains 15 SP once every 15 seconds.
Beethoven 2 set bonus -- After casting the ultimate, the next valkyrie to tag in gains 40% Melee Physical Damage for 10 seconds. CD: 20 seconds.
Beethoven 3 set bonus -- After casting the ultimate, the next valkyrie to tag in also gains 30% Total Damage reduction for 10 seconds and heals for 20% Max HP. CD: 20 seconds.
Alternatively, Tesla Band T -- Gains 15% physical damage and 20% attack speed while deployed. While undeployed, team gains 10% physical damage.
Alternative Stigmatas:
Drive Kometa?
Do you need to get Fulminata Striker first to get the Drive Kometa augment chips/cores?
The little yellow square shows up on the character card at the bottom but not actually there for the character.
You can see the symbol on her card and on the actual valk
But on this image there is no symbol on the valk?
New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castDelayed release schedule. They gave us 2 huge updates combined into one to catch us up, but they still need to have new units staggered for profit.
Oh, ok! I understand now!
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, SUPPORT THE DEVS.
I think Yamabuki comes later
FS and DK are strong in their own aspects.
You can upgrade their core (the orange button besides the dress button after the update) to 4* to get their costumes.
After upgrade the core to 3 *, it will require Chips (blue for FS and red for DK) and smelted cores (big yellow globe covered in metal) to upgrade to 4 *.
The rest is up to you on which upgrade you prefer. Im going for DK for protection, attract enemies and debuffs. Go for FS if you like AOE, dodge attacks and follow ups.
