Overview
As the location with the most tier 3 spawns, the facility is considered the most important place if you are looking for weapons. This location is a must-visit for anyone looking for strong weapons/items to take on the mercs or other players. This secret underground facility is only accessible via the caves or a locked door below the Docks, the code to which is in the Radio Tower.
Security Crates

Security crates are mostly found within the facility, although you can find some level 1-2 crates at the Docks and Hangar. As the name suggests, the crate is secured and can only be opened up with a Master Bypass Console or a corresponding keycard (for example, to open a Level 3 Crate you need a MBC or a Level 3 Keycard).
Inside a crate contains an item with the corresponding tier. Unlike normal spawns, which can have a small chance to contain an item of higher tier, security crates have a 100% chance of dropping an item of the corresponding tier.
Level 1 and 2 Security Crates will show the name of the item inside on the side of the crate. Level 3 and Level 4 Security Crates do not; instead, the side says “CLASSIFIED,” meaning you will not know what is inside until you open it up. Below is a list of what you can find in each leveled crate. You can check the Utilities and Weapons pages for more information.
- Level 1 Crate: Tier 1 Utilities
- Level 2 Crate: Tier 2 Utilities, Rare Weapons
- Level 3 Crate: Tier 3 Utilities, Military Weapons
- Level 4 Crate: Advanced Weapons, Drone
Rooms
Facility Entrance

The entrance to the facility can be found underground, near the end of the underground docks entrance. When you first enter, there is a guaranteed Level 2 Keycard spawn near the table on the left, and a chance of a level 1 crate on the right. As you continue forwards, you will find an open room in the middle of the descending stairs. This room contains some tier 1 and tier 2 spawns, and a guaranteed Master Bypass Console in the middle.
Laser Corridor

Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, you will find the entrance to the facility, which is a long, glassy hallway. Upon entering about a quarter of the way, the gates on both sides of the hallway will close up and the power will be activated. Upon the power and lights becoming activated, 3 series of lasers will be activated. More details can be found in the traps section. To escape, you need to repeatedly click the ladder in the ceiling until it falls down, allowing you to climb up through a vent.
Entrance Room

After jumping down from the vent in the laser corridor, you will land in a small room. At the end of the room is the security door, which can be unlocked with a master bypass console or Level 3 or 4 Keycard. More information on traps can be found below.
To the left is the artifact D room. To the right is a hallway, which contains the rest of the facility.
Artifact D Room

To the left is the entrance to the Artifact D room, which can contain up to one level 2 crate, one level 3 crate, and some tier 2-3 spawns.
At the very end of the room is a door that can be unlocked with a master bypass console or Level 3 or 4 Keycard. Upon opening this door, you will find a dark room with a glass dome in the middle. To break this glass, you need to take any gun with at least one ammo and shoot it. This will drop Artifact D. You can find more information on artifacts here.
Junction Room
If you go right of the entrance and through the hallway, you will reach two connected rooms. The first room can contain up to two Level 3 Crates and two level 2 spawns. The second room has a turret trap (below for more information), and up to 2 possible spawns on the ground below. Both the left and right sides of these rooms lead to paths to additional rooms, called Wing A and Wing B respectively. At the start of each game, Wing B is initially locked.

As you walk through Wing A, you may find a couple tier 3 spawns. In the second to last room, there is a guaranteed EVG spawn on the racks.
At the very end of Wing A is a large, dark room that can have up to three level 4 crates and three level 3 crates, along with a level 3 spawn in the middle of the room. At the control panel near the right of the room contains a pink button, which after pressing it will open Wing B.
Interestingly enough, this is the only location underground that is vulnerable to the monster. If the facility happens to be within the monster's territory, it can appear in this room. It can wake you up in night encounters as well
Portal Rooms

After unlocking and walking through Wing B, you will come across two rooms. The smaller room on the left contains a screen with many numbers and an orange button. The larger room on the right contains a large, unpowered portal. If you type in the correct code (which can be found from a computer screen when you power the Observatory) and press the button, the portal will activate after a few seconds, allowing you to do the Facility Escape.

Traps
There are several security precautions you must take if you do not want to get blasted by the security. Here we will note what they are, where they lie and how to counter them. Although you can disable these traps with a level 3 or 4 key-card, or a Master Bypass Console.
Laser Trap
At the entrance of the Facility lies a long, glassy hallway. Upon entering about a quarter of the way, the gates on both sides of the hallway will close up and the power will be activated. Upon the power and lights becoming activated, 3 series of lasers will be activated and scan the hallway, killing any player unfortunate enough to be hit by them:
The first laser to be activated. This laser will appear and move towards the player at waist height. It can be jumped over by the player.
The second laser to be activated. This laser will behave the same as the previous at first, as it begins at waist height. However, once the laser gets close to a player, it will automatically move upwards, which will kill any player who tries to jump over it. If you don't manage to get into the vent at this point, you need to stay on the ground to let the laser pass by
This final laser will also begin at waist height like the rest, but very soon after, more lasers will appear, forming a grid that covers the entire hallway. This grid cannot be dodged or avoided by jumping, requiring anyone in the hallway to climb out the hallway before the laser reaches them if they want to live. Note that even if you're in the vent, standing at the top of the ladder will still result in death, as the laser grid slightly reaches into the vent.
After the final laser deactivates, the trap will immediately reset. If you are attempting to leave the Facility, you must hide in the vent, and then drop down after the final laser grid passes, but before the trap deactivates. Either that, or you would have to deactivate the facility security. As a side note, it is recommended to avoid entering the hallway if you are about to sleep, as if you fall asleep while the lasers are active, you will most likely die to them
Tripwires
Tripwire traps are planted throughout the Facility to eliminate intruders via explosion. These tripwires can be jumped over and disabled by clicking on the explosive box wired to the trigger, or disabled by zooming out with your camera and clicking on the C4 from the other side.
Successfully defusing the trap will shoot sparks out and a message will appear.

The activated Slicer Trap
Slicer Trap
The Slicer trap is one that can easily be underestimated and cost someone their play through. The trap eliminates unsuspecting or slow players via a sudden and forced clamp of the trap's gate, immediately cutting anything under the gate at the time of it's drop. The trap. though brutal, is motion detected to a distance outside the gate's point of drop, this means if a player simply gets close to this trap, it will be automatically set off. The gate will arise after a few seconds, allowing the player a window to bypass it before it reactivates. While you may not be able to see the gate before it falls, a gap in the floor to the right of the laser hallway can indicate its location.
Turrets
Hidden Turret
The Hidden Turret (activated)
This turret is situated in the long hallway in the facility, right after the Slicer trap, behind a wall that retracts when a player is detected down the middle of the hallway. The trick to avoiding this turret is to stick to either edge of the hallway, walking along either wall until you reach the end. This is because the Hidden Turret can't rotate, so even if it is triggered, you won't get hit if you are along the edge of the hallway.
Junction Turret
The Junction Turret
This turret is the first 'difficult' obstacle that the facility throws at you. It's difficult in the sense that if you don't have a long-ranged weapon to destroy it, it may be difficult, or even impossible, to get past. This turret is located in the junction between wing A and B of the facility and automatically targets any player it sees, up to a certain range that ends right before you enter the junction's room. If you stand right outside of its range and shoot at it with a mid-long range weapon, you should be able to take it out without issue.
Wing B Turret

This turret functions the same way the Junction Turret does, however, this turret is in Wing B (which you can only reach by unlocking Wing B via a button in Wing A) and may be difficult to destroy, and if you don't know that it's there, you may not even notice it to begin with (until it starts shooting at you). Unlike the Junction Turret, there is no safe spot to take out this turret from a distance. The most effective method to destroy this turret is to use a close-mid range weapon with high DPS and low aim time and to shoot at the turret as soon as you enter Wing B. If you wanted to be safe, a Ballistic Vest or Medkit/Healing Spray is recommended, as you will most likely take damage while destroying the turret.
Deactivating Security

If you do not have the tools or ability to avoid and destroy the security measures the Facility has, there is always the option of simply deactivating all of them. Once you get past the laser hallway, you will have 3 paths available to you: left, right, and straight. If you choose to go straight, you will encounter a locked door with a keycard reader. You can unlock this door with either a level 3 or 4 keycard or a Master Bypass Console. Within the room is a large red button that you can press. Doing so will fully disable every security measure, including the turrets, slicer trap, tripwires, and laser hallway, allowing you to roam the facility without risk of dying to traps.
Trivia
The laser hallway trap is a reference and near replica to the 2002 Resident Evil Movie laser hallway scene.
