- AME error code -1609629695
Copy link to clipboard
Hi, I'm using AME to render my video from After Effects.
I used to get the same error code for the renders (-1609629695) all the time, but all of sudden it was working fine for a few renders.
And now I'm getting the error again.
For different compositions, this has been occuring often, and I couldn't figure out what is causing this error or find any information about this online.
I'm using AME CC 2018 version 12.1 / After Effects CC 2018 version 15.1.0
Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1505M v5 @ 2.80GHz, 2801 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Windows Version 10.0.15063 Build 15063
Intel HD graphics P530
NVIDIA Quadro M1000M
and here's what I get about why my rendering is failing
- Encoding Time: 00:00:41
11/28/2018 04:00:20 PM : Encoding Failed

Hi there, Seungmeelee!
Here are some threads that have had similar issues. Please try these ideas while I look into this error for you!
- Make sure your NVIDIA GPU card has the latest drivers installed. Check the NVIDIA site directly to see if there's a newer driver available for your model.
- Try a different GPU setting in the Renderer menu at the bottom of the Queue panel. If it's set to "CUDA", try "OpenCL" or "Metal" and re-import your sequence or source media. If that doesn't help, try "Software Only" rendering to bypass the GPU.
- If you have a Logitech webcam installed, remove it and uninstall any related drivers/software
- If you're exporting to H.264 or HEVC, check if "Hardware Encoding" is enabled in export settings.
Let me know if any of these ideas work for you!

Thanks for your comment, but I tried everything but none of them is working for me.
I'm curious if there's any way we can figure out what the error code means, cuz I'm getting that error code in every render failure.

I've done some more research and found other similar threads with a lot of different workarounds.
The common denominator seems to be an issue with the GPU that's doing the rendering.
I've also collected a YouTube tutorial that's worked for some users but not others.
And a uservoice post!

I have the same problem. Disappears only if I increase the paging file to 50GB

Thanks for trying all the suggestion provided above. You've mentioned that the error disappears when you increase the paging file size to 50GB. I would recommend having a look at this article: How to fix issues that cause errors when rendering or exporting
Clearing up space in your hard drive is the first thing that Adobe suggests in case of export errors.
Is that the same step that you tried? Please go through it and check if there is anything else that can be done.

I have 100GB free on my system hard drive. On the disk where I export video 500GB free.

What drivers are you using? when you said "restarting AE and AME" did you mean you unistall and install them again?

Hi Yerick10, with restarting AE and AEM I meant: closing aftereffects and mediaencoder and starting them again. I’m not sure which driver i had installed at that time. I think for the graphics card it was the default driver of NVIDIA.

In my experience, this error often appear when one file of a sequence asset is corrupted.
for exemple if a jpeg file in sequence is corrupted, it will be fail when it will try to encode this frame.

Reading some other forums I found that the combination of the Hue/Saturation effect and blur can effect the encoder with this error (or sometimes just Hue/Saturation on its own). By using the search feature in the layers panel - I click+drag turned off all of the Hue/Sat effects on my layers, let the preview refresh a frame, then turned them all back on again. For whatever reason - now exporting to encoder isn't crashing with this error.
Another thought for people who maybe stumble upon this, try turning your effect on your layers off (to test) and see if that does anything. then at least you have another troubleshooting idea

We're sorry for the experience you've had. Error 86::1 usually occurs when the media files do not get linked properly inside Adobe After Effects.
However, I would not jump to any conclusion. I understand that you would want to efficiently finish your project. We'd like to offer help in case you decide to update to AE 2020.

Hello Adobe, I have been trying to fix this for days but I don´t found a solution. Adobe After Effects doesn´t import any file. I have Quicktime installed. The same happens with Premire Pro.
After Effects error: Could not open source file. Please check that file exists with correct persmissions

I've been facing the same issue when trying to import screen recordings (.mov) into after effects. And I could not import it into adobe media encoder either.
1) You might need to download Quicktime for this. Open your video in Quicktime and go to file>export>1080(or choose any resolution you want), follow the instructions, give it a name and export! You will now be able to use this video in after effects CC 2020.
You can take it one step further and convert this new file to MP4 in adobe media encoder. I did this as I find it less of a hassle to work with MP4 files than .mov files in both AE CC 2019 & 2020. I'm not sure if there's any actual merit to doing this but in the past when I've worked with .mov files, the footage would be purple and green when I'd open the project months later. But this didn't happen to the MP4 files in the same composition or project.
2) If it's a short video and you don't have Quicktime or can't download it ut you have good enoguh internet to do other stuff, you could try this way. I reeeeally don't reommend this method for obvious reasons but if you absolutely need to get your footage into after effects and create a video real fast, you can use this method. Convert your video on any online video converting website and import the converted video into your composition. The quickest way I could find was converting it to MP4 and then importing this new converted MP4 into my composition. But this method is quite shady and not very reliable for big files. Use the first one!
Premiere CS3 - Export to Encore (Adobe Media Encoder).

Carbon Coder).
