Мы же сегодня рассмотрим Big Box Eu версии The Ultimate DOOM выпущенную GT Interactive Software.
2016 в 18:23 I bought the doom classic pack and was wondering what the difference is between Ultimate Doom and Final Doom; and Master levels of DOOM II and Doom II: Hell on Earth. Also is there a way to disable movement from the mouse because when I move the mouse up or down Doom Guy moves forward and backwards. It makes it hard to control when I'm looking around. 26 июн. 2016 в 18:26 Ultimate DOOM is the first game, DOOM 2: Hell on Earth is the second game, Master Levels for DOOM 2 and Final DOOM are expansions for DOOM 2. 26 июн. 2016 в 22:35 Thanks, but do you know how to disable the mouse movement? Also do you have that problem? 27 июн. 2016 в 7:41 Thanks, but do you know how to disable the mouse movement? 10 июн. 2019 в 0:14 I saw the e3 showcase for DooM eternal and I appreciate how id software are modernizing the franchise for current and future generation of gamers.Even though the gameplay for that didn't excite me at all its good to see DooM going for 25years +. Maybe I am an old f$&! living in the past, just looking at the Announce trailer for Sigil just had me after 30 seconds. plasma rifle with Buckethead music playing. Well I guess DooM means different things to different people and its okay 10 июн. 2019 в 1:04 Its just DOOM modernizing itself, in the end it'll always be DOOM, since DOOM is eternal. 10 июн. 2019 в 9:49 10 июн. 2019 в 11:20
Doom2016 was probably the best modern shooter there is, but that said, being the best turd in the bowl isn't exactly something to write home about.
While I did enjoy it, it lacks a lot.
The game needs better map design, actual secrets, no more pointless weapon upgrades, just give me the full potential of the gun when I obtain it. Doomguy doesn't need a powersuit, never had one, doesn't need one, appealing to modern people with double jumps and ledge mantling and such is all that's for.
Hate the fact your chiansaw is just insta kill ammo replenish tool, otherwise totally useless., ENTIRELY too much focus on glory kills, and the fact every time you do it you get showered with HP.
So much nope.
It needs specialized, deliberate enemy placement, not gore nests spawning waves of enemies while locking you in a room until you kill them and the game decides to let you pass.
The enemy design was pretty atrocious, but Eternal addresses that at least.
I do like the idea of the UT type dodging and the grapplehook, and the multiplayer appears to be infinitely better.
Being able to join with friends and invade other player's solo game as demons is incredible.
We will never get GOOD games again this day and age, but sometimes a modern game is acceptable. Doom Eternal looks to be acceptable.
10 июн. 2019 в 12:57 10 июн. 2019 в 13:45I'm compelled to comment on 'modern' - I have to use the term loosely here - shooters.
For me the most engaging, immersive compelling and realistic not only in game play but
in real-world ( a dirty term for some ) story produced in the last 20 years is Far Cry 2.
Not here to argue the point nor do I mean to belittle other FPSs; - Many have solid points
in game play - realism - immersion and are great fun to play.
Doom has had a long and substantial history which I've followed closely since it's 10 person
teams first release in '93. - Still one of the fastest and most exciting experiences players can
have in a FPS is in the original Doom environment, especially in MP - either co-op or DM.
There is still a large and thriving community of builders and players that continue to converge
around the versatility of the engine, and many old time FPS players returning for it's thrill in
DM and level design.
id has always been a great source for it's originally ground breaking performance in game play.
The main problem that I've always had with their titles starting from the original Doom on is in
their level design. - Just a few of the most common flaws are mentioned above. (Thanks to
those who've commented.)
I'll give id the nod for making "hell on Earth" chaotic, but where they always fall far short is
in realistic design. My main complaints are with the repeated use of dark - often too narrow
and confining mazes, and the poor man's ploy of having monsters bursting out of 'closets' in
areas you've just cleared; As if they were stored there indefinitely just waiting for you to cross
that line trigger to set them free. Not scary, not exciting, entirely predictable attempt at surprise
which has no actual 'shock value' and is an affront to realism.
Quake suffered the same faults as did all of the Doom's that followed.
I won't bother to address their monster designs or their tedious 'Boss Battles' - which are
anything but 'climactic' or rewarding for the player. If their level designs were more seriously
structured conflicts in general would obviously improve. I'm still waiting for id to learn and grow
in their level design.
I couldn't finish DOOM 2016, very boring and mundane.
I can always go back to DOOM, DOOM II, Final Doom with Brutal Doom mods or others and have tons of fun. I don't care about RPG style elements in a DOOM game, that's for the younger new gen audience.
DOOM 2016 had something like 3 map assets so visually it repeated itself way too much (interior industrial assets, outdoor Mars, and then "Hell", and here and there a bit of a mixture of one with another a few times and that's it). I didn't care about gory kills, got tired seeing the same animations after the 5th time. I hated lacking ammo if I didn't do it regularly (which is still around in Eternal; they even make it a selling point). I don't give a rat's arse about "Armor Upgrades" and what not (RPG elements), WTF is that doing in a "DOOM" game I don't know. Lack of actual real well-placed map secrets, boring map design. WAY too many horde mode maps (where you get locked in and it becomes 'Finish the Waves' mode and unlocks only when you're done, rinse and repeat) and no Save Anywhere Anytime. Also there's next to no combat Decals, I.E. bodies or corpses don't stay, bullet holes or burn marks on walls disappear way too fast like the game was made for a system lacking memory. It was just a terrible game I couldn't bother to try and finish.
Additionally, regenerating grenades. in a "DOOM" game? Oh, that's right. it's indeed a 2016 take on it. nvm. And Chainsaw fuel canisters around? That's why I could NOT use it constantly if I felt like it. Nice gameplay mechanic there. Nah, ty. That's not DOOM, it's just a modern shooter with the name on it to sell more. I made it to the first "Hell" level, stopped for a few months, tried it again at some point, played 10 minutes, stopped. Never touched it since. I rarely genuinely feel this way about a game but DOOM 2016 really is one of those "Games Everyone Loved But You Hated" type of game where you'd go in a discussion forum and type a novel about how you don't get why it was so popular, and why when you speak about it negatively the fanbase blow a fuse or two.
The only legit single feature I did actually like about DOOM 2016 was the map editor, it was neat and some people in the community made pretty decent stuff with it. I played just a bit of some of them and had a little bit of fun in those custom maps here and there but that's it. Still, on paper and in practice it was a nice feature to have, if anything.
Maybe DOOM Eternal will be better than 2016, but that wouldn't be saying much. I've watched the previews and there's very minor signs that it might be a little better and visually less repetitive. The one major thing that is different enough this time is (what looks like to be) the environments since it's on Earth now (and possible in Heaven or something like that). So maybe the map design this time will be less straightforward and more branching. The actual core gameplay, however, seems to be pretty much the same (gore kills, get ammo, gore kills, get armor shards, etc). The 'horde mode' type of locked rooms this time seem to be less numerous or just gone (from what they've shown) which would be a major improvement if they did that. But I'll wait for the reviews and maybe one day I'll pick it up when it's like $10.
For me the REAL Doom games are and will always be Ultimate DOOM, DOOM II, Final DOOM and DOOM 64. With Brutal Doom especially there's absolutely ZERO reasons to play something like DOOM 2016. If people want actual 'mindless DOOM-style' FPS action that isn't 20 or 30 years-old if they REALLY cannot stand it for some reason then they should go play something like Painkiller instead, now THAT was a good 'modern' FPS game if you wanted real action. With actual good art direction, visual diversity, great environments, enemy design and level design with good secrets and superb weapons. Heck, I'd play something like Hard Reset instead, which is actually another pretty good 'old-school style' FPS game made with a more modern engine (and "modern" doesn't mean from last year).
To me, "Old" DOOM is DOOM, period.
