wonder if they will compensate by giving supporters more bonuses, either way its a good quality of life improvement.

osu!stable is unchanged and osu!lazer is going to have more features that could recieve supporter bonuses (e.g. more skinnable elements)

Peppy originally made supporter largely because people kept asking where they can throw money at him, not to sell a service. I imagine small things were done to it to give a small thanks but osu!direct came around and bandwidth was too expensive to activate for all users methinks.

I think they did it for the osu lazer release on iOS. So many people were bitching that they couldn’t download maps and that it was to make people buy supporter

osu!direct for all users was "announced" a long time ago (on 2017 august 24th), though people complaining is probably a big reason too lol

Finally, not only can you browse osu!direct but also download new beatmaps! Note that for the time being, this is completely limited to supporters (as it was with stable), but going forward we will be making it partially available to all users to provide better accessibility to all.

i don't understand what the issue is from the description above. please elaborate - or better yet, attach a video of what you believe to be wrong.
