Doom 3 perfected mod обзор

I have modded the non BFG edition of Doom 3 with Perfeced Doom 3 version 6.2.3, I can run the unmodded version of Doom 3 without any issues but when I lauch the modded version the game hangs at the initializing Menu screen. I have windows 7, I don't think that is issue since the vanilla version of the game runs fine. Any Ideas?

What GPU you running?
If ATI, you need to disable Catalyst AI

I'm running a 7870, my CCC version is 12.6 and there is no option that I can find to turn off the Catalyst AI. If you know how please share. Thanks for replying.

I recommend you also try VelociReal Ultimate mod. It is less heavy on your machine and looks amazing

that mod is meant to be a "fixed" version of sikkmod for people having problems installing sikkmod and the corresponding mods (wulfen, mono, Trent's sound packs, etc.). Perfected mod is almost the same (as it includes all those mods) but it also changes gameplay, adding new monsters and special effects that you don't get in sikkmod.

Thanks for replying. 21 янв. 2013 в 13:48I just randomly ran across that thread 'cause I was trying to learn how to install sikkmod and everything properly, but it could be used for anyone who needs help disabling Catalyst AI. A lot of ATI users have problems with this because ATI refuses to fix their drivers. Their CCC is dysfunctional
And one last thing, if you DO manage to get Perfected to run, just be ready for a very challenging gameplay. Almost anything can kill you in one to two hits.

Method 1 has fixed the problems I'd had with another game that uses OpenGL. I've not tried Method 2, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work.

It has been met with great appreciation and acclaim by it's users. This mod will bring many improvements to standard Doom 3 and it's Resurrection of Evil expansion.
Patch Released + Awesome News
The zip contains both the ROE and the non ROE version of the PD3 patches. So head on over to the file section and get patched. Be sure to read the description for installation directions.
Now for the awesome news. I have just found somebody to continue work on adding the Spider Mastermind to PD3. nullscape is now on board to finish off the amazing work that The Happy Friar had currently been working on. So the inclusion of the Spider Mastermind is being continued as planned.
From nullscape's own words, "I've got experience with Radiant (preferring Doom 3's built-in over GTKRadiant, but I can adapt). I model in modo. My strengths are everything environment art. Brushwork, all entity work, level and gui scripting, static models, and all manner of textures/skins." So as you can see this guy has got the chops to make something epic. He's just what we need and he's into the ideas I've had to drop the Spider Mastermind into the game.
If all goes well this addition of the boss will be released as an addon for PD3. That way you don't have to fight the boss if you don't want it. The SM will be a tough addition to PD3 and will more then likely be the last big update.
Patch is almost done
Well I've got a lot of little tweaks and fixes done for the upcoming patch. Still having trouble figuring out the issue with the handgrenade getting stuck.

So far I've been able to take care of pretty much everything I've wanted to fix. I haven't got that much feedback from you guys so I'm just letting you.

This is the best complete overhaul I have seen by far. THanks! Makes playing it again like playing a new game. Love, love, love that you gave options for the DoF, bloom, film grain, etc. How did you do the depth of field, tracers, motion blur? Could you do the same with Quake 4?

What can we say about this mod that has not been said before in other reviews? This mod, dedicated to the game of Doom 3, is perhaps one of the best mods I have come across to. This mod has added so many new features that perhaps its gonna be taking a while to describe them all. I shall point out several things that I came across this mod.
-Story: The same as the original Doom 3, not a big deal right there.
-Gameplay: Now this is the kicker. This mod has focused on a massive gameplay overhaul that has literally changed the way Doom 3 has been played so far. Forget about running and gunning down enemies that were doing negative damage to you, able to tank thousands of bullets, fireballs and other nasty things without breaking a sweat. Here, the enemies are merciless, cruel, and come from the deepest parts of Hell. The Z-Sec Shotgunner will kill you in two shots if you are not careful, but so can you if you aim the shotgun to the head. The Z-Sec Machine Gunner will be always firing at your position in short intervals, laying down supressive fire on you. And most of the enemies will do between Lethal and severe damage if you are not careful with them. The Imp's fireball will kill you in two hits, the Maggot pounce will reduce your health to almost zero. Clearly, the forces of Hell have brought out the worst of the worst just for you. The difficulty itself is massive for the new players of this mod, so be ready to quicksave all the time. The game also allows you to have a shoulder lamp, which is a nerfed Flashlight, you can save up medikits when picking them up, and using them by binding a key to them. And you can also use Adrenaline shots after picking them up. Running and gunning is not possible as the sprinting option lowers your weapon down. So be careful with what you're doing.
-Enemies: Ahhh, this one's one of my favourites. The original enemies of Doom 3 make an appereance, some of them having redesigned textures, like the Imp, having his skin changed to brown instead of the grey skin. What I do love and consider a real challenge is the addition of enemies like the Nightmare Imp, the Spectre, and the addition of the Pain elemental, and the Baron of Hell. Some enemies have been altered, for example, occasionally, the Imp will go to a barrel, and throw it at you, and if it's an explosive barrel, you ****** it up. The Hell Knight can pick up imps and zombies, and throw them in your face too. And the voices of some of the enemies have been replaced with the amazing Trent Reznor soundpack, which adds a heck of a ton of new sounds for the guns and the enemies. It is a truly refreshing experience. Also, we cannot forget THE ADDITION OF SOME OF THE ENEMIES OF QUAKE AS ENEMIES IN DOOM 3! Expect the Shambler, the Vore, and the Fiends to strike you down without mercy.
-Weapons: The Weapons have all suffered a gameplay redesign by the author of the mod. First off, the accuracy of the Pistol and the Machine gun has been reduced, making you use the iron sights of the weapons in order to aim well. Most weapons have a secondary fire mode, like the 20 bullets instant firing mode from the Machine gun, and the pistol unloading a whole clip in a single shot. There's also the addition of some weapons not seen in Doom 3, like the Double Barreled Shotgun. In a short view, the weapons feel now more powerful, more kick-***, and more amazing. A perfect Arsenal to send Hell back.
-Graphics: The Graphics have been improved a lot. The addition of textures on the uniforms of the UAC personnel can be seen with greater detail. The shadows and lighting are amazing, and the fact that the corpses of the demons stay longer and the blood marks stay too!
Perfected Doom 3 is an example of grabbing the original game, and making it 10 times better than the original version. This is what Doom 3 should have been, this kick-*** and terrifying experience. I give this mod personally my 10/10. Now if you excuse me, I have to go to Mars, to kill some demons.

This is an amazing mod. Incredible work.
The only reason that I didn't give it a 10/10 is because I was really frustrated with the impact that the damage increase has in some parts of the game.
I found myself reloading way too often when I got hit by anything at all unless it was a particularly hard fight, because if I didn't, then the hard parts just felt way too hard. Some monsters I feel do not scale properly with how it works out. For example, I reloaded from imps more than just about any other monster because their jumping attack does 2/3 of your health. This is a really ****** feeling to have when you spot a leaping imp and then one second later you're almost completely dead because you have no time to react.
The biggest thing I don't like is the amount of guaranteed damage that some monsters seem to have. If you don't essentially have precognition as to where a revenant is going to attack from, then the minute he sees you you're almost guaranteed to be dead because of his insta-kill homing rockets. I don't think revenants should feel harder than a boss monster like the mancubus. I like that everything is harder, but I don't think every single monster that isn't a zombie or spider should two shot you, or at least make you want to reload after being hit once.
