This car is very famous in Initial D.
The main character of the anime and manga Initial D, Takumi Fujiwara, uses his father's AE86 Trueno Apex Hatchback for racing and making his tofu deliveries.
The Levin has fixed-headlights, and the Trueno has retractable headlights. The AE86 (1,587cc model) and AE85 (1,452 cc model) is rear wheel drive.
The AE85 feature a SOHC engine for fuel efficiency, where as the AE86 have a DOHC engine for more power.
Both the Levin and Trueno variants were offered with either a 2-door coupe or 3-door hatchback body style. The models sold between 1983–1985 are early period model, and the models sold from 1986–1987 are latter period model.
I made a early period model that was produced from 1983 to 1985.
Can open the bonnet and the door.
2-door model can open the trunk.
Can fold the side mirrors.
The left and right rear seats can be folded.
Removing the trunk floor mat, there is a spare tire.
Can change to various models by changing parts.

There was a lot of people who are into a multitude of cartoons and anime but if you’re a car nut, chances are you’re into the Japanese manga/anime called the Initial D. The main character in that cartoon is Takumi Fujiwara who used his father’s Toyota AE86 Trueno hatchback to deliver tofu and of course, racing in the twisted roads near Japan's Mount Akina.
With his crazy antics and incredible drifting techniques, Takumi has made a name in the underground racing world, as is his white Toyota AE86 Trueno. If you’re like us who are fans of the show, you’ll pretty much appreciate this Lego set found on the Lego Ideas website.

This Lego Ideas project is a 1:13 scale model of a Toyota AE86 Trueno Hatchback with retractable headlights. It’s 12.6 inches long, 4.69 inches wide, 4.25 inches tall, and has a 7.24-inch wheelbase.
This version is molded from the early period model that was made from 1983 to 1985. Even better, the lego model has bonnet and doors that can be opened. Even the side mirrors are foldable, and the amount of work and details given to the model is astonishing. It even has an engine model to go with the car.

Other parts of the Lego AE86 Trueno that can be moved are the seats, which can be folded, and the trunk that reveals a spare tire when you lift the matting. Pretty cool, right?

This brilliant MOC is of 1:13 scale and boasts quite a number of features, including opening doors and hood (and opening trunk in the coupe model), folding side mirrors, folding rear seats (split fold seats!), flip headlights (in Trueno mode), spare tire under a removable trunk floor mat, and a detailed engine under the hood.
There are a lot of reasons why this LEGO Ideas should be made. First and foremost is, it is one of the few LEGO Ideas submission that actually boast an alternate build. kosenLEGOmaker designed this model in such a way that you will be able to switch between the AE86 Sprinter Trueno GT Apex and the AE85 coupe, and doing so with a complete engine change from 1,587 cc 4A-GE to the 1,452 cc 3A-U.
